About Healing Haven

What you should know about therapy with Healing Haven:

At Healing Haven, we understand that starting therapy can feel a bit (or even very) intimidating—finding the right counselor and showing up for that first session takes courage. From the moment you walk through the door, our goal is to make you feel at ease and recognize the important step you’re taking toward healing. You and your therapist will get to know each other, talk about why you’re seeking therapy, and set some goals together. We believe trust is something that’s earned, and we’re committed to creating a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. Healing looks different for everyone—whether you’re dealing with anxiety, wanting to better understand your behaviors, or healing from past trauma. Our ideal clients are open, patient, and ready to invest in the healing process. We work best with people who are open to sharing feedback and letting us guide them along the way.

What makes Healing Haven different from other practices?

As a practice, we believe our biggest strength and what makes us stand out is our ability to truly connect with and understand our clients. Whether we’re working with a teenager who feels misunderstood or an adult dealing with intrusive thoughts or trauma history, we take pride in creating a space where you’ll feel heard, validated, and supported. Our empathy helps us connect on a real level, so we can truly understand and reflect your emotions. Often, this allows us to put into words the struggles that might be hard to express, helping to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding.

Important Note on Risk and Client Safety:

If you are assessed as high risk for suicide—defined as having recent suicidal intent, a plan, or a suicide attempt within the past 1–3 months—you may be required to engage in additional safety measures (e.g., a safety plan, psychiatric evaluation). If appropriate support cannot be provided within this setting, a referral to a higher level of care will be made following the intake process.

Please know this is done with your safety in mind, and to ensure you receive the level of support and care you deserve.
